For the first week of my holiday a very tragic thing happened. My favourite aunty passed away. She was my Grandfathers sister, so she was quite close to me.
When I was young, I always used to go to her house for the holidays and spend time with her and Uncle Phillip. She always used to take me shopping and spoil me with so many gifts. I loved staying at her house, because every time I would go there, I would have my very own room, with a queen size bed. My own T.V, DVD player and my own computer with internet. So really I was treated like a queen, because I had every meal made and brought to me. I could do what ever I pleased as long as Aunty Nita and Uncle Phillip knew where I was. I remember this photo in her sitting room that had a picture of a waterfall and it was like watching a movie because it moved. It had trees and flowers all around it and every morning after breakfast I would just sit there gazing at it for a good 10 minutes. It was quite fascinating for me, remember I was only 11. I remember one time I got really angry with her, but I can’t quiet remember why, but I was really angry, so I took off and I went to the next door neighbours house. I didn’t know who lived there or what they were like, but I didn’t care. So I knocked on the ladies door and all she would have seen is a little lost Maori.
She was an Indian woman and she was very kind. She asked me if I was hungry or if I wanted a drink of water, but I said “no”. So she said I could go in her daughter’s room and play. So I did, her daughter Mellissa had the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen.
I didn’t quite know how to play, so I just strummed it. It sounded horrible but I didn’t care. So I sat down at this woman’s table and we chatted for a little bit.
She asked me were I lived and I said “down Omaio and she asked me where that was. I said before Te Kaha and she asked me what I was doing here. I said am staying with my aunty next door, my aunty Nita. So she took me home and I got the biggest growling ever. But I still kept on going back for holidays. Well besides that sad tragic few days, I spent time with my family. I went fishing and diving with my dad.
Went shopping with my mum and sister like how many times?
In loving memory of aunty Nita.
Loved and cherished forever.Had plenty of parties with thee old brother and brother In-law. Spent time with my Skipper, Skipworth family and the rest of all them. I baby sat 3 little kids, There names were Messines (10), Spencer (8) Lincoln (5), for a whole two weeks. It was really good cause their not bad kids, their really easy to look after, they we really good to hang out with. They weren’t little brats most of the time. But my holiday was really good and I enjoyed spending time with my family.
